Privacy Policy
Last Updated: August 19, 2025
I. Introduction
Coffi (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the Coffi app and related services, how we use and share that information, and the choices you have regarding your data. We aim to be transparent about our data practices and provide you with controls over your personal information.
By using the Coffi application or any of our services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use the Coffi app. This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time as described below, and your continued use of Coffi after changes have been posted will constitute your acceptance of those changes
II. Information We Collect
We collect several types of information from and about Coffi users. This includes:
Account and Profile Information: When you create a Coffi account or profile, we collect information such as your first name, last name, username, and email address. You may also choose to provide a profile picture, your country and city location, and other profile details such as a short bio or links to your social media profiles. We also maintain user profile attributes like your global rank or status in the Coffi community. This information helps identify you on the platform and personalize your experience.
User-Generated Content: Any content that you voluntarily create and share on Coffi – for example, coffee ratings, reviews, posts, comments, photos, or other media – is collected and stored by us as User-Generated Content (UGC). In other words, any information or material you upload or publish through Coffi constitutes UGC. Please note: UGC you post may be visible to other users or the public, so do not include information in your posts that you wish to keep private.
Payment Information: If you make purchases or financial transactions through Coffi (for instance, buying coffee products or subscriptions in the future), we will collect information necessary to process the payment. This may include your payment card details or payment account information. However, Coffi uses a trusted third-party payment processor to handle transactions, and we do not store your full credit or debit card numbers on our systems
Show your public reviews, photos, and tasting notes to other users. For example, we may retain a payment token or the last four digits of your card for record-keeping, but the full card information is securely collected and processed by the payment provider.
Usage and Technical Information: Like many applications, Coffi automatically collects certain information about your device and how you use the app. This includes data such as your device type, operating system, app version, IP address, device identifiers, and usage logs (e.g. features you use, pages or screens viewed, access times, and other usage statistics). We collect this information to help us understand user engagement, troubleshoot issues, and improve our services. We may also infer preferences from your usage – for instance, the types of coffee you view or review – to personalize content and recommendations.
Communications with Us: If you contact Coffi support or communicate with us via email or in-app chat, we will collect the information you provide in those interactions (such as your name, contact info, and the content of your message). This information is used to respond to your inquiries and provide customer support. We may also keep records of our communications with you for internal training and quality assurance.
Information from Future Features: Coffi is continually evolving. If we introduce new features that involve collecting additional personal information (for example, optional surveys, contests, or integration with other services), we will inform you and, if necessary, update this Privacy Policy. For instance, if you choose to link Coffi with a social media account or share content from Coffi on other platforms in the future, we may receive certain information from that third-party service as permitted by you and that platform’s privacy settings. We will handle any such information in line with this Privacy Policy.
We collect various types of information in order to provide and improve the Coffi services. This includes both Personal Information (data that can identify you) and Non-Personal Information (data that cannot directly identify you). Information You Provide: When you create an account, sign up for our services, or otherwise interact with Coffi, you may provide personal details such as your name, email address, city/location, and any other information you choose to submit. We also collect content and preferences you provide (for example, profile details, tasting notes, or other inputs) as part of using the Coffi app or website. Information Collected Automatically: Whenever you use our website or mobile app, we automatically collect certain technical and usage data about your visit through cookies and other tracking technologies. For example, we receive data like the website you came from (referring URL), the type of browser or device you use, your device’s operating system, your IP address, the pages or screens you view, the dates/times of access, clicks and other actions taken on the site or app, and other usage statistics. On the Coffi website, we (and third-party analytics providers acting on our behalf) use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to gather this information. This data helps us understand how users navigate our Site, enables certain site features, and allows us to remember your preferences and settings for a more personalized experience. For instance, cookies help us recall your login session and language choices so you don’t have to re-enter them each time. We also collect analytics information about how you use our services – for example, aggregate data on which features are most popular or how often certain pages are visited – to help improve functionality and optimize your Coffi experience. Please note that the Coffi mobile application does not use browser cookies; however, it may use other built-in identifiers and analytics tools to collect usage information. Specifically, in the mobile app we may gather anonymous performance and usage data (such as frequency of use, features accessed, or crash reports) to understand how the app is functioning and to improve it over time. This in-app data is collected via technologies like device identifiers or analytics software development kits (SDKs), not cookies, and is not linked to your identity in our system. Overall, all information – whether you provide it directly or we collect it automatically – is handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable law. We use it for the purposes described (such as providing the service, personalization, analytics, security, and fraud prevention), and we do not collect more data than is necessary for those purposes. We also do not knowingly collect any personal data from children under the age of 13 (and the Coffi services are not directed to children under 13). If we discover we have inadvertently collected children’s personal information, we will delete it in accordance with applicable laws.
III. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
Providing and Improving the Service: We use personal information to operate Coffi and provide you with its features. For example, we use your account information to create and maintain your account, and your profile information to display your identity within the app. We also use various data to maintain and improve our services, fix bugs, and develop new features. This includes analyzing how users interact with Coffi so we can make the user experience better.
Personalized Recommendations: One of Coffi’s core features is to provide personalized coffee recommendations and taste profiles. We analyze your interactions with the app – such as the coffees you rate or content you create – to suggest coffees, brewing methods, or other content you might enjoy. Importantly, our personalization algorithm relies on your coffee-related data and UGC, not on sensitive demographic details. In other words, we tailor recommendations based on your taste preferences and activity (e.g., your reviews and ratings) rather than characteristics like your age, gender, or ethnicity. This helps us provide relevant suggestions while respecting your privacy.
Communicating with You: We use your contact information to send important or necessary communications regarding the service. This includes responses to your customer support inquiries, transaction confirmations or receipts, updates about your account, and notifications about important changes (such as changes to this Privacy Policy or Coffi’s Terms of Service). We may also send you announcements about new Coffi features, newsletters, or promotions if you have agreed to receive such communications. You can opt out of promotional emails as described in the Your Rights and Choices section below.
Marketing and Promotional Uses: We may use information about you to send you marketing and promotional content about Coffi’s offerings, such as special offers, newsletters, or events, consistent with applicable law and your communication preferences. For example, if you subscribe to our updates, we will use your email to send you Coffi news. We will always give you the opportunity to unsubscribe or opt out of marketing messages (see Your Rights and Choices below). Additionally, as described in the User-Generated Content section, we might use the content you have made public on Coffi (like a great coffee photo or review you posted) in our external marketing or social media – either with your consent or as allowed by law – to promote Coffi’s community and services.
Processing Payments and Orders: If you make a purchase through Coffi, we will use your personal and payment information to process that transaction and provide you with the purchased product or service. This includes sending your information to our payment processor to complete the payment and, for example, using your shipping address to deliver physical products if applicable. We also use purchase information to maintain proper business records.
Ensuring Safety, Security, and Legal Compliance: We use data to keep Coffi safe and secure. For instance, we might use certain information to detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service. If necessary, we will use personal information to enforce our agreements or to comply with legal obligations. For example, we could be required to use and retain data to comply with financial reporting laws, or to respond to lawful requests from authorities.
Use for Research and Analytics: We may aggregate and anonymize data (so that it does not identify you personally) and use it to understand trends and user preferences. This helps us analyze how different segments of users use Coffi and how effective certain features or campaigns are. Aggregated data may also be used for academic or marketing research to advance knowledge about coffee preferences and community behavior, but such research will not identify individual users.
We will only use your personal information for the purposes above and will not use it in a manner that is incompatible with those purposes without your consent. If we need to process your data for a purpose that is not described in this Privacy Policy, we will notify you and, if required, seek your permission.
IV. Sharing and Disclosure of Information
We understand the importance of keeping your personal information private. Coffi does not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes. We only share your information in limited circumstances, outlined below, and with appropriate safeguards:
Service Providers and Vendors: We share your information with third-party service providers that perform services on our behalf to help run our business and the Coffi app. These include, for example, cloud hosting providers (for data storage), analytics providers (to help us understand app usage), and payment processors (to securely handle credit card transactions). These service providers are given access only to the information necessary for them to perform their functions, and they are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for providing services to Coffi.
Business Partners (with Consent): If Coffi partners with another company to offer co-branded services or promotions (for example, a special contest with a coffee roaster), and you choose to participate or take advantage of those offerings, we may share your information with the relevant business partner with your consent. In such cases, we will make clear at the point of data collection that the information will be shared and you will have the choice to proceed. We do not share your personal data with third parties for their own independent marketing or advertising without your opt-in consent.
Legal Requirements and Safety: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or legal process, or if we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal requests (e.g. a subpoena or court order), or to respond to an emergency. Additionally, we may share information when we believe it is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Coffi, our users, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
Corporate Transactions: If Coffi is involved in a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, reorganization, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred to the successor entity or purchaser as part of that transaction. We will ensure that any such entity is bound by terms that are consistent with this Privacy Policy with respect to your personal information. We will also notify you (for example, via email or a prominent notice in the app) of any change in ownership or use of your personal data, as well as any choices you may have regarding your personal information as a result of the transfer.
Other Users and the Public: Some aspects of your information are shared with other Coffi users or the public by your own actions. For instance, when you create a Coffi profile, certain profile information (like your username, profile photo, bio, coffee preferences, and any content you post) will be visible to other users of the app. Similarly, any user-generated content you post on Coffi (such as reviews or images) will be accessible by other users and may be publicly visible if Coffi allows public access to that content. This sharing is inherent in the nature of Coffi as a social application. Please see the User-Generated Content section for more details on how your content may be displayed or used. Keep in mind: Any information you choose to share publicly can be viewed, used, or shared by others, and is not subject to the privacy protections of private data.
Aggregated or De-Identified Information: We may share information that has been aggregated or anonymized in such a way that it does not identify you personally. For example, we might publish reports or infographics that show overall usage trends (like “X% of Coffi users prefer espresso drinks” or “Coffi has users in 50 different countries”) without revealing any personal details. Such information could be shared with partners, the media, or the general public for marketing or research purposes. We take care to ensure that this data cannot be traced back to individual users.
Aside from the instances noted above, we will not share your personal information with third parties unless we have your consent or direction to do so. If in the future we need to share your data for any new purpose, we will update this Policy and/or ask for your permission as required.
V. User-Generated Content and Public Use of Content
Coffi is a platform where users can share their coffee experiences and content. When you contribute content to Coffi – for example, by posting reviews, photos, comments, or other material – that content is considered User-Generated Content (UGC) and may be visible to others. You retain ownership of all UGC that you create, but you also grant Coffi certain rights to use that content so we can operate and promote our services. Please read this section carefully to understand how your UGC may be used by Coffi:
Public Display: Content that you post on Coffi (such as coffee reviews, tasting notes, photos, or forum comments) will typically be visible to other Coffi users, and in some cases, publicly visible to anyone (for example, if Coffi features top user posts on a public website or marketing material). Your profile name, avatar, global rank, and other profile info may be associated with the content you post, allowing others to know who authored the content. We encourage you to exercise discretion in sharing personal details in any content you post, since information you publish in UGC is not private and can be viewed or used by others.
License to Coffi: By uploading or posting UGC on Coffi, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, copy, store, modify, distribute, display, and create derivative works from your content as needed to provide the Coffi service and for the purposes described in this Policy. This license allows us, for example, to host your content on our servers, display it to other users, and reproduce it in promotional materials. We do not claim ownership over your UGC; you simply give us permission to use it for these purposes without further approval from you. This license is necessary for us to operate the Coffi app (since showing your posts to others or including them in a feed technically requires copying and transmitting them on our platform).
Use in Marketing and Promotion: Coffi may use your publicly shared content for our own marketing and promotional purposes, in accordance with applicable laws. For example, we might feature a great user photo or an excerpt from your coffee review on our social media pages, website, or other promotional material to highlight Coffi’s user community. If we decide to use any of your UGC in this way, we will do so either by removing or anonymizing personal identifiers or by giving credit to you as the creator, as agreed with you. We will not, for instance, take a photo you uploaded and use it in an advertisement without either obscuring your identity or attributing the content to you (e.g., using your username or display name), consistent with what we have communicated or agreed upon. Your content will never be sold to third parties, and any use of it in Coffi’s marketing will be to represent our community and service, not to commercially exploit your individual content beyond the platform’s context.
Compliance and Moderation: All UGC on Coffi must comply with our Terms of Service and community guidelines. We reserve the right to monitor, review, remove, or restrict content that violates our terms or applicable laws. This might involve automated filtering or human moderation of posts that are flagged for containing prohibited material. If your content is removed for violating policies, or if you delete your content or account, we will cease displaying it publicly in the app. However, please note that removed content may persist in backup copies for a period of time and, if your content was already shared by others (for example, if another user saved or re-posted your photo), Coffi cannot always guarantee the complete removal of that content from all online locations. We also may retain certain content as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., keeping evidence of a violation to demonstrate why we took action).
In summary, be mindful that any content you contribute to Coffi can be seen by others. We want you to express your coffee passion, but we also want you to understand how that content might be used. If you have any concerns about specific content usage, you can contact us (see Contact Us below), and we will be happy to discuss or clarify permissions. By posting content, you are telling us that you have the rights to share it and that you accept these terms of its use on our platform.
VI. Cookies, Analytics, and Tracking Technologies
Use of Cookies on the Coffi Website: Our Coffi website now uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience, analyze usage, and ensure the website operates properly. A cookie is a small text file placed on your computer or device by your web browser at the request of a site you visit. Cookies allow us to recognize your browser or device and store information such as user preferences or login status for your next visits. Types of Cookies We Use: We utilize a few categories of cookies on our site, in line with standard privacy practices:
Strictly Necessary Cookies: These cookies are essential for the website to function correctly. They enable core features such as security, network management, and accessibility. For example, strictly necessary cookies help authenticate users, keep you logged in as you navigate between pages, or remember items in a shopping cart. Without these cookies, certain services you request (like maintaining your account login or submitting forms) cannot be provided. These cookies are generally first-party cookies set by Coffi, and because they are necessary for the operation of the site, in many jurisdictions they do not require your prior consent (though we still inform you about them)
Functional (Preferences) Cookies: These cookies allow our website to remember the choices you make and provide enhanced, more personalized features. For instance, functional cookies may remember your region or language preference, your display settings, or other customizations (e.g., whether you’ve dismissed a notification or seen a tutorial). By storing these preferences, we can tailor the site to you (for example, automatically logging you in or showing content in your preferred language) and improve usability. While not strictly necessary, these cookies are intended to make your experience smoother and more convenient.
Analytics (Performance) Cookies: We use analytics cookies and similar tracking technologies to collect information about how visitors use our website, in order to understand usage patterns and improve our services. These cookies allow us to gather aggregated, anonymous statistics about site traffic and interactions – for example, which pages are most frequently visited, how much time users spend on each page, what links are clicked, and any error messages encountered. Importantly, the data collected via analytics cookies does not directly identify you; it is typically received and analyzed in aggregate form. We use this information to enhance website performance (e.g., by optimizing page load times and navigation) and to fix bugs or improve the content and layout of our site. In some cases, we utilize trusted third-party analytics services to help us perform this analysis – for example, we may use a third-party analytics tool that sets its own cookies to collect usage information on our behalf. Any third-party analytics cookies used are only for Coffi’s purposes of analyzing and improving our platform, and we do not allow these analytics providers to use your data for any purpose other than providing services to us. We do not use any advertising or targeting cookies at this time (cookies that profile you for advertising) and we do not sell or share personal information via cookies for marketing purposes.
Why We Use Cookies: In summary, the cookies on our site help to ensure the website works securely and as intended, remember your settings, and help us understand and improve user behavior on our site. For example, a strictly necessary cookie keeps you logged in as you move through secure areas of the site, a functional cookie might remember your preferred app theme or that you’ve already completed a certain in-app tutorial, and an analytics cookie might tell us that a particular feature on our webpage is frequently used (indicating we should focus on enhancing it). Using cookies in this way allows us to continuously improve Coffi and tailor it to our users’ needs, while also keeping the service reliable and user-friendly.
Other Tracking Technologies: In addition to cookies, we may employ web beacons (also known as pixel tags) and similar tracking technologies on our website or in email communications. Web beacons are tiny graphic images or snippets of code that function in a way similar to cookies. They allow us, for example, to count users who have visited certain pages or opened an email, or to understand usage patterns. We might also use local storage or session storage on your browser for certain features (these are other ways of storing data in your browser, similar to cookies). All these technologies are used in accordance with this Privacy Policy – for example, any that are not strictly necessary for service may only be used with your consent where required by law.
Cookies and Consent: We are committed to using cookies in a privacy-compliant manner. This means that, in jurisdictions that require it (such as the European Union), we will obtain your consent before setting any cookies on your device that are not strictly necessary. When you first visit the Coffi site, you will see a cookie consent banner or notice. This banner allows you to accept or decline non-essential cookies (like functional and analytics cookies) according to your preference. You can choose to accept all cookies, reject all non-necessary cookies, or customize your choices by cookie category. We will not deploy those optional cookies unless and until you have given consent via the banner selection (except for the essential cookies which are always active to allow the site to run). Your consent choices will be remembered for future visits, but you always have the ability to change your mind later (see “Your Choices (Opt-Outs)” below for how to manage or withdraw consent). We also honor any additional legal requirements regarding cookies and tracking. For instance, we explain the purposes of each cookie in clear language, we allow you to access our service even if you refuse non-essential cookies, and we make it just as easy to withdraw consent as to give it. In short, Coffi’s use of cookies and trackers is transparent and controlled by you: we only use what we need to run and improve our services, and you have a say in whether non-essential cookies are used.
Mobile App Analytics: Within the Coffi mobile app, we use third-party analytics tools to help us understand how the app is being used and to improve its performance. These tools collect information about your app usage, including which features you use, your device type and operating system, session information (such as how often and how long you use the app), and your general location (for example, your city or region – not your exact GPS coordinates). We use this information solely to fix issues, learn what features are most useful, and make the app better for you. Importantly, this data does not include your name or contact information, and it is not used to identify you personally.
No Cross-App Tracking or Ads: We do not use the analytics data from our app to track you across other apps or websites. In other words, the information we collect in Coffi’s app stays with Coffi – we do not combine it with data from other companies’ apps, and we do not use it for any kind of behavioral or targeted advertising. The analytics information is used in aggregate to improve our services and is never shared with advertisers or for ad targeting purposes.
Your Choices: You have some control over analytics and tracking on your devices. Most smartphones offer settings to limit or disable app tracking and analytics. For example, you can disable ad tracking or reset your device’s advertising identifier, and you can adjust app permissions such as location access in your device’s privacy settings. While our app does not use analytics data for advertising, using these settings can help you control what data is collected. We encourage you to review your device’s privacy options if you want to limit the collection of usage data.
VII. Data Security
Coffi takes the security of your personal information seriously. We implement reasonable and industry-standard security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include technical, administrative, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. For example, we use encryption to protect data transmissions (such as using HTTPS for data in transit), we restrict access to personal data to authorized personnel, and we employ firewalls and monitoring to guard against intrusions.
However, please understand that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. It is important for you as well to play a part in protecting your information. Keep your account credentials (username and password) confidential and secure. If you suspect any unauthorized access to your account or any breach of security, please notify us immediately so we can assist.
Coffi will continue to review and enhance our security practices as new technologies and best practices emerge, in order to help ensure your data is as safe as possible.
VIII. Data Retention
We will retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. This means, for example, that we will keep your account information while your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter in case you decide to return to Coffi. We may retain certain information for longer if it is needed for legitimate business purposes (such as record-keeping, account recovery, or audits) or to comply with legal obligations (e.g., maintaining transaction records for tax and accounting purposes).
When personal information is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, we will either delete it or anonymize it so it can no longer be associated with you. For instance, if you delete your Coffi account, we will delete or anonymize personal data associated with your profile, with the exception of data we are required or permitted to keep by law (such as payment transaction records or data kept for resolving disputes or enforcing our agreements).
Please note that User-Generated Content that you have posted may persist in some form even after account deletion if it has been shared or re-posted by others, or if it is stored in backup archives. However, we will make commercially reasonable efforts to remove or dissociate such content from your identity upon account deletion.
IX. Your Rights and Choices
Your Rights: Depending on your location and applicable privacy laws, you may have certain rights regarding the personal information we hold about you. These rights may include:
Access: You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we have collected about you, and to obtain information about how we process it.
Correction: If any of your personal information is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to ask us to correct or update it. For example, if you believe your profile information or account data is wrong, please let us know or simply update it through the app if the option is available.
Deletion: You can request that we delete your personal information. This is sometimes called the “right to be forgotten.” We will honor deletion requests to the extent required by applicable law. Please note that we might need to retain certain information for legal reasons or internal business purposes (as noted in the Data Retention section), but we will inform you if that is the case. Deleting your Coffi account will remove your profile and personal data from active use, though some residual data may remain in backups or logs for a period of time.
Objection to Processing: You have the right to object to certain types of processing of your data, such as processing for direct marketing or when we are processing based on legitimate interests. In such cases, we will stop processing the data for that purpose upon request unless we have a compelling legitimate ground to continue or as otherwise permitted by law.
Restriction of Processing: You can ask us to suspend the processing of some of your personal information, for example if you want us to verify its accuracy or our reasons for holding it.
Data Portability: Where provided by law, you may have the right to obtain your personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, and to have that information transmitted to another service provider.
Withdrawal of Consent: If we are processing any of your personal information based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. For example, if you consented to share optional profile details or to receive marketing emails, you can change your mind and withdraw consent; we will then stop the processing that was based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information in the Contact Us section below. We will respond to legitimate requests within the timeframe required by law. Please note that we may request certain information from you to verify your identity before fulfilling your request (for instance, verifying that the email address requesting data deletion belongs to the account holder). This is to ensure that we do not disclose or erase the wrong person’s data.
We believe in giving you control over your personal information. In addition to the various rights you may have under data protection laws (such as the rights to access, correct, or delete your data, which are discussed elsewhere in this Privacy Policy), Coffi provides you with several choices to opt out of certain uses of your information – particularly around marketing communications and tracking technologies:
Profile Settings: You can access and update much of your profile information directly through the Coffi app (for example, you can edit your display name, bio, profile picture, etc.). We encourage you to keep your information up-to-date. If you wish to change information that is not editable in the app, you can contact us for assistance.
Email and Marketing Communications: If you have signed up to receive newsletters, promotional emails, or other marketing communications from us, you can opt out at any time. Each marketing email we send includes an “unsubscribe” link in the footer; clicking that link will prevent further marketing emails to your address. You may also opt out of marketing communications by adjusting your account preferences (if applicable) or by contacting us directly. Please note that even if you opt out of promotional messages, we may still send you transactional or administrative emails that are necessary for our service (for example, emails about account issues, password resets, or updates to our terms or Privacy Policy).
Push Notifications: With your consent, Coffi may send push notifications or alerts to your mobile device (for example, a notification that someone liked your post). You can control these by adjusting the settings on your device or within the app to disable or limit push notifications from Coffi.
Cookie Preferences on Our Website: As described above, you have the ability to control non-essential cookies on the Coffi website. When you first visit, you can make your choice via the cookie consent banner. If you later change your mind, you can manage your cookie preferences at any time. We provide a mechanism on our site (such as a “Cookie Settings” link or a similar interface) where you can review and modify your consent choices. For example, you can withdraw consent for analytics cookies if you previously accepted them, or vice versa. Any preferences you set will be respected by our website. Withdrawing consent or declining cookies will not affect your access to the Coffi site – our core services will remain available even if you choose to reject non-essential cookies. However, keep in mind that if you disable certain functional cookies, some features may not remember your custom settings; similarly, if you disable analytics cookies, we will have less ability to understand how our site is used (which is okay – that is your choice). We aim to make it as easy to withdraw consent as it is to give consent, in line with regulatory requirements. If you have any trouble adjusting your cookie settings, you can contact our support for assistance.
Browser Settings for Cookies: In addition to our on-site controls, you can manage cookies through your own web browser settings. Most web browsers allow you to block or delete cookies at your discretion. For example, you can typically set your browser to refuse all cookies, to only accept certain types of cookies, or to notify you when a cookie is being placed. You can also delete cookies that have already been set by websites (which is often found under a “clear browsing data” or “privacy” section of your browser’s settings). Please refer to your browser’s help documentation for specific instructions on how to adjust or remove cookies, since the steps vary by browser. Note: If you configure your browser to reject all cookies, this will include strictly necessary cookies – which may result in some parts of our site not functioning properly (for example, you might not be able to stay logged in or use certain secure features without cookies enabled). Therefore, we recommend using our granular cookie controls or carefully selecting which cookies to block, rather than disabling all cookies for our site.
Opt-Out of Analytics: If you prefer not to be included in web analytics tracking, you can disable analytics cookies via the methods described above (cookie banner or browser settings). We do not use analytics data to identify individual users, but we respect your choice if you decide to opt out of these measurements. Additionally, some third-party analytics providers offer their own opt-out mechanisms – for instance, certain analytics platforms provide browser add-ons or settings to prevent your data from being used by their tool. If we use such a provider, you may follow their specific opt-out instructions (for example, some users choose to install the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on to prevent analytics collection on sites that use Google Analytics). Even without an add-on, simply disabling the analytics cookies through our cookie preferences or your browser will effectively opt you out from our analytics.
“Do Not Track” Signals: Some web browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) setting or Global Privacy Control signal that you can enable to indicate your preference regarding tracking across websites. Currently, there is no universal standard on how to respond to DNT signals, and as a result, our website may not respond to every Do Not Track signal it receives. However, because we give you direct control over cookies and do not use third-party advertising trackers, your choices through our cookie consent tool or browser settings are the primary ways to control tracking on Coffi. In jurisdictions like California that recognize Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out of sale/sharing, we will honor such signals to the extent applicable (note that Coffi does not sell personal information, as stated elsewhere in this Policy, so the main form of “tracking” to control is via cookies). We continuously monitor regulatory guidance on DNT/GPC and will adjust our practices if a uniform response standard emerges or as required by law.
Mobile App Data Choices: For users of the Coffi mobile app, since cookies are not used, your tracking choices revolve around other data collection. If the app requests certain permissions (e.g., location access, camera access) you can grant or deny those permissions through your device settings at any time. If you wish to limit analytics or crash reporting in the app, you can check the app’s settings to see if there is an in-app option to disable analytics. Many mobile devices also allow you to reset or limit ad identifiers which can reduce tracking across different apps. While our app does not serve ads or use ad trackers, adjusting your device’s privacy settings (such as selecting “Limit Ad Tracking” on iOS or opting out of Ads Personalization on Android) can reinforce your preferences across apps. Of course, you also have the option to uninstall the app if you no longer wish to use it, or to contact us to request deletion of your account/data. We want you to feel comfortable with how Coffi handles your information, so please use the available tools to configure your privacy settings to your comfort level.
In summary, Coffi enables you to opt out of or customize various data uses. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails, decline or accept cookies as you see fit, and control certain data collection in the app and via your browser. We strive to make these choices clear and accessible. If you have any questions or need help adjusting your preferences, you can always reach out to us at the contact information provided in this Privacy Policy. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these choices or rights, and we remain committed to honoring your privacy decisions in accordance with all applicable laws, including GDPR, CCPA, and other international privacy regulations.
X. Children’s Privacy
Coffi is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years old. If you are under 13, please do not use Coffi or provide any information about yourself to us. This includes not registering for an account, not creating a profile, and not posting any personal data or content.
In the event that we learn we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will promptly delete that information. If you are a parent or guardian and you discover that your child under 13 has created a Coffi account or provided us with personal information, please alert us as soon as possible so that we can take appropriate action.
For users in certain jurisdictions, the age threshold may be higher (for example, 16 in some regions). We will adhere to applicable age restrictions in those locations. We do not intentionally target or market the Coffi app to minors.
If we decide in the future to offer a version of Coffi that is suitable for younger audiences, we will do so in compliance with relevant children’s privacy laws (such as the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act - COPPA) and with an updated privacy policy.
XI. International Data Transfers
Coffi is a service that may be accessed by users around the world. We are based in [please insert the country where Coffi is based, e.g., the United States], and the data we collect from you will likely be stored and processed on servers located in the United States and/or other countries. This means your personal information may be transferred to, and maintained on, computers or systems located outside of your state, province, or country, including in jurisdictions where the data protection laws may differ from those of your home jurisdiction.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or another region with laws governing data collection and use that may differ from U.S. law, please note that we may transfer information, including personal data, to a country and jurisdiction that does not have the same data protection laws as your jurisdiction. In such cases, we will take steps to ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your personal data. For example, for EEA users, we may rely on approved contractual data transfer clauses (Standard Contractual Clauses) or other legal mechanisms to ensure your information is protected. By using Coffi or providing information to us, you explicitly consent to the transfer of your data to other countries as described in this policy (to the extent permitted by law), and to the processing of your data in those countries.
Regardless of where your data is processed, we will treat it securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Coffi’s security measures (described in Data Security above) apply globally to the data we hold. If you have questions about our international data practices, please contact us.
XII. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update or revise this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. If we make changes, we will post the updated Privacy Policy on this page and update the “Last Updated” date at the top of the Policy accordingly. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information.
For significant changes, we may also provide a more prominent notice or seek your consent, as required by law. For example, we might notify you via email or via an in-app notification if we were to make substantial changes to how we collect or use personal data. By continuing to use Coffi after any changes become effective, you are agreeing to the revised Policy.
